Before we begin to lay flooring onto new screed, we must first check, if the screed is suitable for laying. A surface check is carried out for cracks or other visible defects.
For the laying of flooring, it is important how the screed was made and how long it dried. A moisture measurement has to be carried out. Allowed maximum moisture in screed is 1.8% for wooden floorings or 2% for flexible and textile floorings. We must also pay attention to the straightness of the screed. We verify it with a straight lath and a measuring hook. Allowed deviations are read from the table, prescribed by the EN standard 18202, table 3, lines 3 and 4.
Should the foundation be old screed or existing flooring such as parquet, ceramics, stone or others, we recommend that you contact our technical service. We will be happy to take a look at the surface at the building and prepare a technical solution for you. Thus, you will ensure a professional installation of the new flooring, which will serve you optimally.
